1. Health and Well-Being of Young Children

• Understand how to measure a child’s overall well-being (physical, mental, and emotional)

• Identify common childhood illnesses such as colds, flu, bronchitis, stomach flu, and HFMD

• Recognise symptoms of medical emergencies like febrile seizures

• Detect signs of mental or emotional distress (e.g., anxiety, low self-esteem, behavioural withdrawal)

• Balance a child’s physical and emotional needs through sleep, play, and nutrition

2. Safety and Preventive Measures

• Apply standard health and safety practices in childcare settings

• Learn infant/children first aid for choking, allergies, and injuries.

• Identify potential safety hazards for children and how to avoid spreading of illness, contamination and poisoning

3. Nutrition and Healthy Eating for Children

• Understand nutritional needs at different stages of growing

• Plan balanced meals that promote growth and prevent obesity or malnutrition
