Introduction:

This unit covers the knowledge and application skills to be able to ensure the safety of seniors when required to accompany them. Skills include to recognise ageing related health issues that caused mobility limitation; provide suitable senior support services in particularly to mobility constraints seniors; accompany senior clients safely from one location to another; use various transport devices or walking aids properly; and manage personal negative emotions as a care worker.

Course Content

• Recognise ageing related health issues that caused mobility limitation
• Provide senior support services to mobility constraints senior clients
• Accompany senior clients safely from one location to another
• Assist senior clients in using transport devices or walking aids in accordance to WSH organisational guidelines
• Maintain one’s health and well-being as a care worker

Course Duration

Total Training hours: 16 hours

• Training: 15 hours
• Assessment: 1 hour

Time: 9am to 6pm

Mode of Delivery:

The course is delivered by a well-qualified trainer in a classroom environment

Certificate Awarded:

WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA)

Minimum Entry Requirement:

• Those who are 21 years old and above, and are currently working in healthcare related industry for 0-3 years.
• Minimum Lower Secondary Level and/or able to read, write, listen and speak of English to a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 3; and count to a proficiency level equivalent to Employability Skills System Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 3
• Able to operate a personal desktop computer / laptop with Level 2 basic computing and applications skills
• Be motivated to learn
